Dr. Hamad Karki is Faculty at the Department of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UA.E. Dr Karki is the CEO and Co-founder of the ADIIR startup company. His Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees are from Tokyo University of Technology and are in Mechatronics and System Electronic Engineering. As an Associate Professor faculty at the institute, he teaches and conducts research linked to robotics and smart systems that are related to the oil & gas and relevant industries. The startup that was founded, focuses on automating inspection process such as pipeline inspection using smart sensors on field robots.

Dr. Steve Matthews is Petrofac ECS’s Integrity Consultancy Manager, based in Abu Dhabi. His main responsibilities are the delivery and technical assurance of RBI and Integrity Consultancy projects, as well as worldwide sales and business development support for ECS’s Integrity Management Services. He also leads the development of Petrofac’s BuildME Integrity Management software platform.

He has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years with substantial experience in RBI, integrity management system development, asset due diligence and condition assessment, corrosion management, SCE performance standards, maintenance strategy development, reliability, and failure analysis.

Siji Sidharthan has 15 years of experience in Non-Destructive Examination with mechanical engineering degree from Cochin University. He specializes in NDT consulting, field services, procedure validations and commercialization of new NDT technique. He holds PCN Level 3 and ASNT NDT Level 3 in UT, PAUT, TOFD, RT, MT, PT, VT. He is also an Authorized Inspector as per API 510, 570, 580, 571.

Founding member of the regional team with over 15 years’ experience in the energy industry pertaining to integrity and performance assessment of ageing plants, across the Power & Water, Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Industrial Sectors.

Jamie holds an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and joined Doosan Babcock in 2005 and has operated globally on a variety of projects and initiatives across various sectors. Developing a breadth of experience in engineering assessment, lifetime extension and interface management with the wider Doosan group for product support.

Currently he is responsible for the Asset Management activities across the region, having transferred from Doosan Babcock’s European business in 2014. Successes include supporting the O&M team at one of the largest Power & Water Plants in the UAE as an Embedded Engineer, to drive the prioritisation of defects and support the optimisation of their maintenance strategy

Dr. (Ms.) Sarmishtha Palit Sagar is a Chief Scientist and heading the Non-destructive Evaluation group at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur, India. She is having 23 years of experience in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation and Sensor development. She has bagged her B.Tech and M.Tech in Electronics & Communication from the Institute of Radio Physics & Electronics, University of Calcutta and Ph D from Jadavpur University, India. Her research interest is on ultrasonic & advanced ultrasonic, signal & image processing, Device & sensor development for Industrial applications, Internet of Things (IoT) and AI. Dr Sarmishtha has worked as a visiting Scientist at Fraunhofer Institute for Non-destructive Testing, Saarbreucken, Germany from 2000-2002 and at Pennsylvania State University, USA in 2009. She is having 63 Publications in SCI and Non-SCI journals, 13 Patents and 7 copyrights in her credit. Her team has developed and transferred several industry applicable technologies. Couple of the technologies are already installed at the plant. She has guided several Master students and 3 Ph D students. She is the recipient of several awards, few to be mentioned: National NDE Award for International Recognition, 2017, National NDE award in R&D by Indian Society for NDT in 2005, Raman Research Fellowship award by CSIR, in 2008, Lady Engineer Award by Institute of Engineers in 2012, ISNT-IXAR Award for the best paper published in Journal of NDE in 2010 & 2012, “Innovista 2015” Regional award in “Promising Innovation in the Core processes” category, 2015. She is in the editorial board of Indian Journal for NDE and Korean Journal of NDE.

Usman has 18 years of industry experience within Asset Integrity, Asset Management, Reliability and Maintenance domains. Over these years he has worked and consulted for global asset owners in MENA, South Asia and APAC regions. He is also an authorized trainer for Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) and Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) Certifications from Association of Asset Management Professionals, USA.

Philip Horsford received his BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, UK. Mr. Horsford has held several technical and managerial positions at renowned multinational companies in both construction and oil and gas sectors. At present, he is a General Manager at Cortec Southeast Asia, having previously served with Cortec in the Middle East.

With a focus on Asset Integrity Assurance, Philip specializes in the preservation of idle equipment with a focus on corrosion control and is currently a member of AMPP (formerly NACE) and ICorr, United Kingdom.

Chris Greenwood is the Director of Regional Business Development for ABS, responsible for the Middle East and Africa, and is based in Dubai. Chris joined ABS in London in 2008 as part of the ABS Graduate Surveyor program. After training rotations in Houston, Chris went on to spend 6 years in South Korea, 3 years in Japan, 2 years in Scotland, and short stints in Singapore and Houston.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in marine technology from the University of Plymouth, a master’s degree in project and program management specializing in Oil and Gas from the University of Liverpool, and is currently enrolled in an Executive MBA at the University of Manchester.

Wassim brings over 18 years’ experience in digital engineering covering ecosystems management leadership, 4.0 digital transformation strategies & project delivery, business intelligence, emerging technologies, and operational efficiencies solutions. He has extensive experience in leading all phases of large-scale digital projects, including complex business re-engineering initiatives, industry transforming technology solutions and systems integration projects with multiple clients and technology partners. Wassim Ghadban has implemented digital solutions that drive future energy systems and support the efficiency of today’s energy sources. it is correct that digital and sustainability is go hand in hand Wassim is a global consultant in innovative solutions and has developed the concepts of digital maturity levels and 8D digital twin adopted by key industrial players as a roadmap to deliver the plant of the future.

Alberto joined DP World as part of the Global Engineering team in Dubai in 2013, he is primarily responsible to delineate and implementing reliability programs for port equipment and engineering processes across DP World Ports and Terminals portfolio. Prior to this role, Alberto worked as Senior Reliability Engineer in Allied Reliability Group in USA with exposure to different industries such as Oil and Gas, Agro-industrial, Metallurgy, Food Processing, and others.

Engr. Mr. Musaad AL-Garawi is an EMBA graduate from KFUPM major in Chemical Engineering, currently the Director of Process and Quality Management, Managing the Process Safety in MPC with more than 22 years of successful working experiences. He is actively leading the continual improvement and implementation of Integrated Management System across MPC facilities including MWSPC at Ras Al-Khair and Jalamid to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of existing MPC’s performance.

Leading in the development and successful progression of operational activities of HSES Management System in order to ensure that all Process Engineering staff followed standard HSES processes and protocols along with the Operational procedures which constantly reflects Ma’aden Core Values and Principles. Moreover, Mr. Musaad A. Al-Garawi published a paper in Hydrocarbon Magazine for Advance Process Control by Neural Network.

Fawaz AlSahan is the Chairman of Saudi Aramco Instrumentation Standards Committee and the President of ISA Saudi Arabia section. Fawaz is a voting member of different national and international Standards Technical Committees (ISO, IOGP, UL and SASO). Fawaz is a Certified Engineering Consultant (SCE) and a Certified Automation Professional (ISA) with more than 24 years of experience in instrumentation and process automation (design, standards development, innovation, digital transformation, suppliers/technology evaluation, technical support and maintenance). Fawaz received many national and international awards; including the “King Salman Award for Inventors and Gifted”, “The Gulf Engineering Union in Engineering Excellence and Innovation Award”, “ISA Excellence in Technical Innovation” and “Saudi Aramco Downstream Digital Transformation Excellence Award”. Fawaz has five granted patents, author and co-author of many publications and handbooks and participated as keynote speaker and guest speaker in many automation, process safety and reliability conferences.

With 18+ year of experience in the oil and gas industry Mr. Wahed Khamis graduated from the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineering, Egypt in 2002. He started his career path as a QA/Qc engineer at Petrojet for 5 years.

Mr. Wahed moved to UAE in 2008 as an Inspection Engineer with DNV GL and continued working through a lot of projects for five years. Later, joined ADNOC offshore in 2013 as integrity engineer and works there up to date. He is certified with API 570 certificate piping inspector, API 510 Pressure vessel inspector, API 580 Risk base inspection, In addition to CWIP 3.1, Internal auditor certificate, and Diploma in Welding engineering from Alexandria university in 2007.

Mr. Lutfi is the Secretary-General of the Emirates Insurance Association and Secretary-General of the Gulf Insurance Federation. He was earlier Group Director, Insurance Services at Dubai Holding, and remains one of the best-known insurance personalities in the GCC.

He previously served as General Advisor of Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Co. and was Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Insurance in Dubai.Mr. Lutfi was a Founding Board Member and Advisor of Dubai International Financial Centre across the spectrum of insurance and reinsurance issues. He was also a member of the finance working group for the Dubai-United Kingdom Trade and Economic Committee (DUKTEC).Mr. Lutfi continues to work tirelessly as a powerful lobbyist for the cause of insurance and correct insurance practice across the UAE and the GCC.

Lieutenant Commander Naveen Nair (Retired) is a professional Naval Architect and was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 15 July 2000. He served in the Indian Navy in various roles including that of Ship retrofit manager, Ship designer and Training officer. He retired from service in 2010 after which he worked for L&T ship building in their Fast attack craft design project till 2012 . He has been with Aries marine and engineering services since then performing various roles like ship design, Project management for new builds and retrofits and supply of ship equipment.
